 Kiran Chekka, MD

Interventional Pain Physician, Anesthesiologist, Double-Board Certified

Kiran Chekka, MD, is a double board-certified interventional pain physician and an anesthesiologist at the standout Medical Spa practice, Opulence Modern Medical Artistry, in the West Loop neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. He is proud to offer cutting-edge treatments, including ketamine infusions for depression, and the all-natural nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) infusion as an outpatient service.

Dr. Chekka received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He went on to complete a residency in anesthesia at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where he also finished a fellowship in pain management.

Contributions to his field include serving as an assistant professor of anesthesiology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Evanston, Illinois, and helping a private medical pain practice become the largest in Illinois.

Deeply dedicated to caring for his community and contributing to the medical field, Dr. Chekka is active in many charitable organizations, including Doctors Without Borders, The Portes Foundation, and Operation Walk Chicago, where he serves as a board member and director of anesthesia.

Dr. Chekka is one of the foremost experts in using ultrasound and fluoroscopy in anesthesia, and widely known for minimally invasive pain management techniques. He is passionate about patient comfort, discovering innovations in patient care, and establishing standards to overcome the avoidable safety issues in the field of aesthetics.

With over 50 years of training and experience in state-of-the-art aesthetics, surgical procedures, modern wellness techniques, and anesthesia/pain services, he and the team at Opulence Modern Medical Artistry bring a whole new concept to Chicago. Dr. Chekka aims to elevate each patient’s experience with only the safest techniques and most innovative technology.

Dr. Chekka lives in Chicago, and in his free time, enjoys traveling, distance hiking, and scuba diving.

Anthony Papagikos

Owner/President of Opulence, Director of Business Development

Anthony Papagikos brings collaborative research and education to the aesthetics space in addition to the development and distribution of new products. He aims to develop and implement cutting-edge beautification technology in the unique clinical setting of Opulence Modern Medical Artistry. 

At age 30, Anthony has already held various positions in some of the largest diagnostic companies in the United States and operated multiple healthcare startups. His work prior to Modern Medical Artistry was focused primarily in the diagnostics and biotech space, allowing him to secure exclusive contracts in the realm of medical distribution. Anthony has been able to use this experience to travel and source the best beautification equipment and technology. As a result, he now provides Opulence patients with incredible, effective services, and referring physicians with premiere education, working under the highest levels of compliance. 

Anthony and his business partner Dr. Kiran Chekka have combined their unique skill sets and brought them to the remarkable Opulence space in the West Loop of Chicago. While Dr. Chekka provided his vision for a premier, fully clinical setting, Anthony took the task of fully designing the bare space into the truly one-of-a-kind environment to provide patients with an experience like no other.

Alex Kolascz, CRNA

Ketamine Infusion Specialist

Ketamine Infusion specialist, Alex Kolascz, is motivated to provide hope to those in the Chicago area. Alex has been using ketamine as an anesthetic in operating rooms for over 6 years. He received his Masters in the Science of Anesthesia from Duke University in Durham, NC. In 2015 he became board certified with the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthestist. Since then Alex has delivered safe and effective anesthesia in the offices and operating rooms of surgical centers and hospitals throughout Chicago and West Michigan.

From his initial exposure to Ketamine Infusions at Duke University for depression, anxiety, PTSD and pain, Alex has seen first hand the positive transition his patients have experienced. He has been providing Ketamine Infusions for 2 years in West Michigan and is excited to bring his expertise to Chicago. Alex is eager to provide hope to the people within his reach, and get them the treatment they deserve. He believes that by implementing Ketamine Infusions to this specific demographic he can dramatically increase their quality of life and create a better community.

Sarah Patel, MPAS, PA-C

PA- Lead Injector

Sarah is a native Chicagoan. She began her career as a clinical dietitian with a focus in nutrition support. As a result of her experience working in the surgical ICU, at the age of 30 she moved to North Carolina to begin her graduate training to become a physician assistant. She graduated at the top of her class in 2013 and moved back home to Chicago in 2015. Sarah has previously practiced adult and pediatric neurosurgery, neurointerventional radiology, but made the switch to aesthetics four years ago.

Sarah has a passion for procedures and anatomy. She has performed thousands of injectable treatments in her career and has also been a trainer for multiple providers entering the field. Building a great rapport with her patients to develop a treatment plan based on their goals is her primary objective with any encounter, but always hopes for the potential of developing long-lasting relationships in the process.
